Nationally recognized Pop/Folk/Americana singer/songwriter Evan Gibb is a twenty-two year old, originally from Connecticut and now residing in Orlando, Florida.
His latest single “Slow Down” starts off with a clean, soft, soulful sound blended throughout the instrumentation and lyrics. An uptick occurs about a minute in with a renewed energy and high vibe that turns the song into something you feel you can really crank up loud.
There are a variety of string instruments that actually carry the song, with little else, including percussion. The talent and execution needed to pull off such a successful arrangement should not be overlooked.
Evan was chosen by John Shanks as a top ten finalist for the Guitar Center National Singer-Songwriter Contest back in April during a visit to Los Angeles.
He has been surrounded by music most of his life, and derives some of his influence from his father. “All my life we had a guitar in my house. Right around high school age, my freshman year, was when I started playing myself,” Gibb says. “I started writing songs around sophomore year of high school and just sort of fell in love with it.”by
